President Pranab Mukherjee has called for participation of the larger section of the society for the success of the clean India mission. Taking part in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Shiv Chandra High School at Kirnahar in Birbhum district of West Bengal Thursday morning Mr. Mukherjee said that the government cannot do everything alone and soceity should support the governmental efforts.

The President recalled the dream of Gandhiji for clean India.

Before flagging off Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by the students of the school the President administered the pledge for cleanliness to them. Earlier, he also visited the Kamada Kinkar High School named after his father and paid floral tribute at the portrait of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhahadur Shastri there.
