President Pranab Mukerjee has emphasized the need to strengthen our modern education system in the country to meet the international standards. <br/><br/>Despite the country having large number of higher educational institutions including IITs, only two institutions are in the international reckoning. <br/><br/>He was inaugurating the bicentenary celebrations of CMS college, Kottayam, Kerala. He said that apart from other things, education means building character and tolerance.
