President Shri Pranab Mukherjee today attended the 125th anniversary of Bangiya Sahitya Parishad wherein he lauded the contributions made by the Parishad vis-a-vis the defining periods in social, cultural, intellectual and literary history of Bengal.<br/><br/>He said, since its foundation in 1893, the Bengal Academy of Literature and then rechristened Bangiya Sahitya Parishad have been doing exemplary work.<br/>Famous Bangla personalities such as Romesh Chandra Dutta, Rabindranath Tagore, Navinchandra Sen, Devendra Nath Mukherjee were associated with the Parishad.
