President asks youth to work for peace and harmony

<br/>President Pratibha Devisingh Patil today asked the youth to work for peace and harmony in the country. She said that we must constantly strive to build understanding and a sense of collective pride in our Indianness and reject narrow and divisive agendas. She was speaking after the presentation of Rashtrapati Scouts and Guides Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. <br/><br/>The President said this can be achieved by respecting different religious practices, languages, traditions and cultures of our people. Appreciating the work of Bharat Scouts and Guides organization, Mrs. Patil said that youth of Bharat Scouts and Guides are participating in Interstate Cultural Exchange Programmes and National Integration Programmes in different parts of the country. She said that the young generation of India has been demonstrating their capabilities and strength in various fields in the country and across the world. <br/><br/>Expressing concern over the global warming and climate change, she said that the nation must judiciously use its resources and work to conserve its rich flora and fauna.<br/><br/><br/>
