President arrives in Kohima

Scintillating Naga choirs , western classical music and display of Naga fabrics welcomed the President Pratibha Patel at Raj Bhavan in Kohima, who is on her two day maiden visit to Nagaland. Attended by Nagaland Governor Nikhil Kumar, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and a host of Ministers and top officials, the President was regaled by the cultural evening followed by a banquet at the Raj Bhavan. Earlier, the President was accorded a warm reception and ceremonial guard of honor by the 15th IRB Mahila Battalion thereafter she met representative of civil societies and NGOs. Mrs. Patil will be accorded a civic reception at the Naga Heritage Kisama, near Kohima, tomorrow which will be followed by ‘High Tea’ to be hosted by the Chief Minister. After the event, she will visit to Dimapur, from where she will leave for Imphal by a special plane.
