The President Mrs. Pratiba Devi Singh Patil has arrived at Imphal this afternoon on a two-day official visit to Manipur. She was warmly received at the Imphal airport by the state Governor Gurbachan Jagat, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and his cabinet colleagues. Later, the President moved into the Raj Bhavan, Imphal where Chief Minister called on her and discussed various issues. This is the first visit of Mrs Patil to Manipur after she became President of the country in July, 2007. The State Assembly session was adjourned for the day just after the question hour in view of the president’s visit. Mrs. Patil will lay the foundation stone of IT Park at Mantripukhri in Imphal tomorrow morning and will launch the State Wide Area Network (SWAN) Project.
