The President of India , Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil arrived in Goa on Saturday on a four day visit to the state. She was received at the Dabolim airport by Goa Governor, Dr. Shivinder Singh Sidhu and Chief Minister Mr. Digambar Kamat . During her four day visit to the state, the President of India will attend a cultural programme and a banquet to be hosted in her honour by the Governor, Dr. S.S. Sidhu on Sunday. The government and all local self bodies will organize a civic reception in honour of the President of India on November 23, 2009 at NIO Auditorium, Dona Paula. The President will be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of the Goa University on November 24, 2009, where she will be conferred honorary degree of D. Litt . She will leave Goa for Pune on November 24, 2009. The state Government has made elaborate security arrangements during the visit of the President.<br/>
