In Manipur, preparations are on for the smooth conduct of the state assembly elections scheduled on the 28th of next month. Joint Chief Electoral Officer of the State Praveen Singh told AIR News that systematic preparation for expenditure monitoring mechanism is already going on. He also said, that Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur P C Lawmkunga will brief representatives of political parties at Imphal tomorrow. The Media Certification and Monitoring Committees have started functioning at state level as well as district level for certification of political advertisements and monitoring paid news in both print and electronic media.He also said the security and manpower requirements for the state assembly elections have also been worked out.
