In Assam, poll preparations are on in the insurgency infested Haflong constituency of Dima Hasao district. The constituency is going to poll in the first phase of election in the state on 4th of April. District Information and Public Relation Officer Machuam Jute told our correspondent Manikant Thakur in Haflong that the poll officials are leaving for the 69 voting centers tomorrow. Our correspondent reports that the voting centers are located in the far flung areas and officials have to move on foot to certain centers as there is no other way out. Boats, elephants and locally available transport are being used to ferry poll staff and material in the remote and riverine locations.
