All preparations are on for the upcoming 12th South Asian Games to be held in Guwahati and Shillong from 5th of next month. Official sources said that 1374 male and 1105 female players have confirmed their participations till this evening. AIR correspondent reports that thrust has been given in gender equality. Among eight participating countries, Nepal and Maldives have more female players as of now. The first contingent of Maldives has arrived in Guwahati city. Competitions will be held in 23 categories.
