Preparations are in full swing for Republic Day Celebrations by the expatriate Indian community in West Asia region. Several functions are being organized to mark the occasion. India ‘s Ambassador to UAE, M. K. Lokesh will hoist the National Flag at the Indian Embassy premises in Abu Dhabi . He is hosting a dinner for the diplomatic community and the leading NRIs in Abu Dhabi later in the evening. In Dubai , Consul General Sanjay Verma will hoist the National Flag at the Indian Consulate and subsequently at the Indian High School premises in Dubai . It will be followed by a march past by the students and a cultural program showcasing glimpses of rich mosaic of Indian culture. In the evening, a Mushaira has been organised wherein leading poets will recite their poetry highlighting the glory of India
