Preparations for third and final phase of local elections in Nepal have been completed. Polling for 136 local bodies in 8 districts of Province 2 will be held on Monday.More than twenty six lakh eligible voters will exercise their franchise to elect 6627 local representatives in Tarai region. <br/><br/>The Election Commission has directed the security agencies to beef up security along the Nepal-India border. Chief Election Commission Ayodhee Prasad Yadav visited Province 2 yesterday to review the preparations. He also held meetings with chief district officers, chief election officers and chief of security agencies. <br/><br/>Chief Election Commissioner urged to create conducive environment to conduct free and fair elections. As per the new constitution of Nepal local, provincial and parliament elections needs be completed by 21 January 2018. <br/><br/>Two phases of local polls have already been completed on May 14 and June 28. Provincial and parliamentary elections are scheduled on November 26 and December 7.
