In Uttar Pradesh all poll preparations has been completed for seven and last phase of assembly elections. Polling parties will be rushing to their respective polling centers today to conduct voting tomorrow in 60 constituencies spread out 10 districts from Ruhelkhand and tarai regions of the state.Security forces have already reached in the areas going for poll in Moradabad, Bareilly and Lucknow divisions and have conducted flag march in sensitive and vulnerable areas.AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that a total of 962 candidates including 100 women are in fray in this phase of elections. BJP, ruling BSP and Samajwadi Party have fielded their nominees in all segments while congress has left nine seats to its poll ally Rashtriya Lok Dal. Left Parties CPI and CPIM have also fielded their nominees in 6 segments. More than 1 crore 82 lakhs electorates will exercise their franchise in last phase of elections and about 19 thousand polling centers are being set up to cast their votes. The districts going to poll in the last phase are Bijnore, Moradabad, Bheem Nagar, Rampur, J P Nagar, Badaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Lakhimpur Kheri. Elaborate security arrangements are in place for peaceful and impartial voting. Extra precautions have been taken in sensitive areas falling under Bareilly, Moradabad, Bijnore, Badaun and Rampur districts. About 770 companies of both Central Para Military Force and Provincial Armed Constabulary are deployed. International border with Nepal and interstate border with Uttarakhand have been sealed. Election Commission has reviewed the poll preparedness in last phase of elections. A review meeting was held at Moradabad and Deputy Election Commissioner Vinod Jutshi headed the meeting attended by the officials and Chief Electoral Officer of the state Umesh Sinha.Meanwhile the Election Commission has given a clean chit to Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal in relation to his comments on imposition of President's Rule in Uttar Pradesh. The Commission has said that it was satisfied that the Minister had no intentions of threatening or intimidating the electors by making the impugned statement and has decided not to pursue the matter.
