Preparation in full swing for PM Modi's visit to Mumbai tomorrow

Preparations are on in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai tomorrow. As part of his visit to the city, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj memorial at an island in Arabian Sea off Mumbai coast. A series of other programs have been lined up during his one day visit to the city tomorrow. <br/><br/>Maharashtra Government is all set to conduct the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Shivaji memorial with much fanfare. PM Modi will travel to the island by a hovercraft. <br/><br/>Proposed on around 15-hectare Island, the memorial will be as high as 210 metres of which 60 per cent would be the height of the statue alone. The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for major infrastructure projects like two new Metro lines, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link and Kalanagar flyover. <br/><br/>These projects are expected to improve connectivity and reduce overcrowding in local trains as well as vehicular traffic on Mumbai's roads. Later the PM will address a public function in suburban Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). <br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate the newly-built campus of SEBI's National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) at Patanganga near Mumbai.

Preparation are on in full swing for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Mumbai tomorrow. He will lay the foundation stones for major infrastructure projects like two new Metro lines, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link and Kalanagar flyover. <br/><br/>The new Metro routes, 23.5-kilometer long DN Nagar to Mankhurd corridor and the 32- kilometer Wadala-Thane-Kasarvadavali Metro-4 corridor are likely to reduce overcrowding in local trains and vehicular traffic on Mumbai's roads. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, the 22- kilometer long Mumbai Trans Harbour Link project will establish connectivity between South Mumbai and main land and will help develop parts of Raigad District. <br/><br/>The flyover project is aimed to provide seamless connectivity to the business hub of Bandra-Kurla Complex.
