In Assam, preparation for the 12th South Asian Games is in full swing, which is to start on 5th of February. Tight Security arrangements are being made for smooth conduct of the multi-sport event. Assam Home Commissioner LS Changsan told AIR that 50 companies of security forces will be deployed in Guwahati during the games. Ms.Changsan said that state government has already written to the Centre for security forces.A total of 23 sporting events will be held in Guwahati and Shillong. Nearly five thousand players and officials of eight countries are expected to take part in the event.
