The much awaited pre-monsoon showers today hit the national capital giving relief to Delhiites who were experiencing hot and humid weather condition for over a month. Medium to heavy rains lashed most parts of the city this evening and continued for over an hour. The evening showers also led to waterlogging and traffic snarls in various parts of the capital including Laxmi Nagar, Parliament Street and ITO.
Hundreds of people particularly those getting back home from office were stranded on roads for hours. According to the MeT department, the maximum temperature was recorded at 38.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, the minimum settled at 29.1 degrees Celsius.
The weatherman has predicted generaly cloudy sky with possibility of one or two spell of rains in Delhi as well as its adjoining areas in the next 24 hours.
