Pre-monsoon showers continue to lash several parts of Assam

In Assam, pre-monsoon showers continue to lash several parts of the state for the third day on Tuesday affecting the normal life. <br/> <br/>According to local MET office, the state received rainfall varied from 38 milimetres to 65 milimetres during last 24 hours. It also predicted more rain during next 24 hours. <br/> <br/>In Guwahati city, several schools and educational institutions remained close following waterlogging. <br/> <br/>Transportation on several vital roads remained disrupted for the second day today as they were overtopped by artificial flood water. <br/> <br/>The Doordarshan Kendra Guwahati located in Ambikagiri Nagar area of the city is completely under the knee- deep water. Emergency transmission duty staff of the Kendra is, however, managing telecast of the programmes without any break. <br/> <br/>Reports reaching Guwahati said the water level in all the major rivers, including the Brahmaputra are rising rapidly following heavy downpour during last three days in the state.<br/><br/>
