Pravasi Bharatiya Divas: Leaders urge India's diaspora to invest in nation building

Gujarat Chief Minister today urged Indian Diaspora to come back to their motherland and take part in the nation building. Addressing the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in New Delhi today, Mr. Modi said that country faces a crucial elections in a few months and at this juncture NRIs should come back to vote and actively engage with the political process. He said this would add to India's strengths, its development, governance and unity.

Speaking at the function, Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy said his government has undertaken several policy measures for attracting investors. He said his government has invested heavily in education and enrichment of human resources and 40 percent of its annual budget goes for education.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda expressed confidence that his state will emerge as international education hub in the next five years following the new steps taken by the government to promote education and skill development.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangama urged Indian diaspora to invest in the state. Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia also addressed the convention.
