Prasar Bharti refutes allegations of impropriety

Prasar Bharti today refuted allegations of impropriety, while finalising the contract or making payments to the UK-based SIS Live for telecast of Commonwealth Games. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Prasar Bharati CEO B S Lalli said, the payment made to the company till date is according to schedule and laid down procedures. He said, the contract amount had been finalised at approximately 253 crore rupees by the government in 2008.Addressing the media on the occasion, Doordarshan Director General Aruna Sharma said, a total of six companies had been shortlisted, out of which only two namely Nimbus and SIS Live had made bids. She added that as the Nimbus consortium broke up therefore only SIS Live was left and the contract was awarded to them.’
