Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer Jawahar Sirkar has called upon All India Radio and Doordarshan to work in a pro-active manner as a public broadcaster. He emphasised on propagating country's unity in diversity while safeguarding the principles of secularism and equality.

Mr. Sirkar was addressing a Zonal Coordination meeting of the different wings of All India Radiio and Doordarshan of the North Eastern Region at Guwahati. He said, Prasar Bharati is in the process of putting in place its own recruitment board and also of notifying recruitment rules.

Earlier, it was said the Prasar Bharati would go for revamping all its archive centres in the country. A state of the art archive centre in Guwahati is also proposed during the current five year plan for catering to the needs of the North Eastern region.
