The Prasar Bharati board approved further expansion of Direct to Home (DTH) platform of Doordarshan, so as to reach 150 channels by December. According to a Prasar Bharati Press Release, the Board also approved the expansion of another 100 channels in 2012.

In its meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday. The board also approved immediate expansion of All India Radio FM stations to all 313 cities planned for coverage under the FM expansion scheme of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The board approved the creation of 2183 new vacancies for office and management in the All India Radio network.
