Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer Jawahar Sircar says, the public broadcasting body is planning to provide a bundle of TV channels freely to viewers on their smart phones, tablets and computers. <br/><br/>Responding to queries of press in Chennai after inaugurating two-day International Exhibition on Broadcasting Equipment & Technology (organized by the All India Broadcast Manufacturers & Distributors Association), he said the service will be provided using "Digital Video Broadcasting through Terrestrial-Two" (DVBT2) technology. <br/><br/>It is being experimented by Prasar Bharati in 19 cities across the country now, including the four metros. Once it is operationalized, viewers can access the channels without incurring any expenses for data. 10 to 20 channels including willing private ones could be provided through the facility, he added.
