Prasar Bharati today completed 20 years as a statutory autonomous body which was established under Prasar Bharati Act on 23rd November 1997. <br/><br/>To mark the occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati Shashi Sekhar Vempati planted a sapling at DTH centre in Todapur, New Delhi. Director General of All India Radio and Doordarshan, Engineers in Chief of the public broadcasters also planted saplings.<br/><br/>Speaking to AIR, Mr Vempati said, All India Radio and Doordarshan have grown manifolds during the two decades. <br/><br/>He said, AIR is now streaming live in multiple languages and External Services continues to be India's voice across the globe. <br/><br/>Mr Vempati said, from just being a terrestrial network Doordarshan is now on satellite, internet and has gone digital. The CEO said, big priority for Prasar Bharti is modernization and getting ready for digital era.<br/><br/>Mr Vempati said, this time the IFFI in Goa was streamed live in High Definition in television as well as internet. He said, Prasar Bharati is establishing a connect with the youth.
