The Prasar Bharati Chairman Dr A Surya Prakash on his four days visit to Himachal Pradesh today visited AIR Shimla.<br/><br/>He held a joint meeting of AIR and DD Shimla's programme, engineering and news officials.<br/><br/>Dr Prakash said, Prasar Bharati is taking various steps to strengthen its network especially in the border areas of the country.<br/><br/>He advised DD officials to take steps to further strengthen the Kissan Channel and also create awareness on different social welfare schemes of Central Government.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports, talking about Himachal, Dr. A. Surya Prakash said that especially in the tribal districts of Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur, the areas bordering China would be given special emphasis in setting up of the latest equipment to strengthen the AIR network.<br/>Lauding the role of AIR in this hill state he stressed upon the need to use social media platforms like twitter as pre publicity to aware people on different programmes.
