Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer Suresh Chandra Panda inaugurated the Aakasavani Shirdi FM Centre today. The event took place at the Sai Samadhi temple area in Shirdi in Nasik district.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Panda said that the Aakashwani FM station will prove very useful for the Sai devotees in the region. He stated that besides running devotional songs, bhajans Maha-artis daily, the station will also be effective tool of communication during the peak season and for disaster control measures. <br/><br/>Saibaba trust president Suresh Haware said that it is one of the happiest moments in the history of Shirdi as now the Aakashwani service will facilitate a direct connect with Sai devotees with its various programs.<br/><br/>He informed that people around 25 kilometer area from the Sai Temple will be able to get clear signal of the station on 103.7 fm. Prasar Bharti Director General F. Shehryaar, Additional Director General MS Thomas and Ajay Gupta, Mayor Yogitaa Shelke, Managerial vice president of Saibaba Trust Chandrashekar Kadam, Trustee Bhausahib Wakchoure, and others were present. Large number of Sai devotees were also present on the occasion.
