Prasar Bharati Chief Executive Officer Jawhar Sircar has said, about 2500 subordinate posts lying vacant in All India Radio and Doordarshan will be filled through the Staff Selection Commission within 45 days. Reviewing the functioning of the Public Broadcasters with senior officials in Hyderabad today, he said the process will be initiated soon to accord promotions to those officials who did not get it in the last 15 years. He laid emphasis on creative presentation of the programmes.

Earlier, the Prasar Bharti CEO emphasised the need for inculcating social values through media among people for building the nation into a major power in the world. Speaking at a programme held as part of the Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations at Ramakrishna Math in Hyderabad this morning, he said Prasar Bharti will strive through programmes which promote social values to realise the dreams of Swami Vivekananda to make India a major Power. Stating that All India Radio and Doordarshan have 40 percent population as assured audience and listeners across the country, the CEO said the public broadcasters will carry forward the teachings of Swmai Vivekananda to inculcate values especially among youth.
Earlier, he released books on Swami Vivekananda Life and Teachings in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
