Prasanta Karmakar wins historic medal in Para sports

AIR correspondent reports that out of 272 gold in contention 15 were in para sportsIn all 15 gold medals were in stake in the Para Sports and Australia led the tally winning five gold and four silver and equal number of bronze medals . It won three gold medal in athletics and two in swimming. South Africa's Natalie Du Toit scored a hatric with gold medals in 100 meter Butterfly, 50 meter free style and 100 meter free style S-9. India's Prasanta Kamakar created a history when bagged the only medal won by India in swimming in Commonwealth Games winning a brone in 50 meter free style. Nigerian weight lifters both in the men women category made a clan sweep of the gold, sliver and the bronze in the bench press winning six medals in the event. India's Rajinder Singh Rahelu did not win a medal but got the fourth position. Nigeria also bagged the gold in table tennis.
