Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today urged banks to work and help the government achieve its goal of inclusive growth through financial inclusion. Speaking on the occasion of 92nd foundation day of Union Bank of India in New Delhi, Mr. Mukherjee said banks should step up their efforts for financial inclusion in bringing vast population to its ambit.Mr. Mukherjee congratulated the bank for its efforts to provide support to BPL families and adopting 103 villages in the country for all round development. Mr. Mukherjee also released a book Bankers Beacon written by noted journalist M V Kamath to mark the occasion.
