India will sign an agreement to provide one billion US dollars line of credit to Bangladesh during the visit of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to Dhaka on Saturday. The agreement will be signed between the EXIM Bank of India and Economic Relations Department of Bangladesh. The loan will be used by Bangladesh for a variety of projects which includes building railway infrastructure, supply of Broad Gauge locomotives and passenger coaches, procurement of buses, and dredging projects.India had agreed to provide One Billion US Dollars line of credit to Bangladesh during the visit of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to New Delhi in January this year. During his short visit, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee would call on the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also hold talks with Finance Minister A.M.A. Muhith and the Bangladesh Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Dipu Moni.
