Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has reached Kathmandu on a day's visit to Nepal. Talking to media on his arrival at Tribhuvan International airport this morning, Mr. Mukherjee said that he is confident that the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement would help to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Nepal which are unique and unparalleled. He said, the Agreement is required to reflect the prevalent times.
The Finance Minister is leading a six member delegation to Nepal. He would call on the President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai. He will hold talks with his Nepalese counterpart, Basrsha Man Pun and sign the Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement, replacing the one signed in 1987.
