Pranab leaves for 2-day Chicago visit

Finance Minster Pranab Mukherjee today left for a two day official visit to Chicago in United States of America.

During his visit, he will address the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, where a large number of business leaders of the Corporate World are likely to participate.

According to an official release, the Finance Minister is likely to share his views on Indian and Global economy especially when the world economic situation is in a state of flux.

He is also likely to envisage the shared goals and objectives with these business leaders and invite them to become an active partner in India's growth story.

Mr. Mukherjee will also unveil Swami Vivekananda Memorial Plaque at Art Institute of Chicago. An agreement will also be signed for Vivekananda Memorial Programme for Museum Excellence. Under this programme, Art Institute of Chicago will work with Government of India to impart a broad range of knowledge on modern operations of Museums like conservation and planning of exhibitions.

Mr Mukherjee will also inaugurate the exhibitions of Tagore Paintings at Art Institute of Chicago. 61 paintings of Gurudev Tagore will be displayed in the exhibition.
