Pranab Mukherjee has launched his campaign for Presidential election by meeting UPA's key partner and DMK President M. Karunanidhi in Chennai. The meeting took place at the residence of Karunanidhi yesterday. Mukherjee, who enjoys a close rapport with Karunanidhi having been the emissary of Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi on many occasions, said it was natural to start the campaign from Chennai as DMK was a stable partner of UPA.

The other Presidential candidate and former Lok Sabha Speaker Purno A Sangma said he banks on “vote by conscience” for his race to the top constitutional post of the country.
