Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee today introduced a Bill in the Lok Sabha to regulate Public Procurement. The Public Procurement Bill -2012 aims at ensuring transparency, accountability and probity in the procurement process.

It is intended to give a fair and equitable treatment to the bidders by promoting competition. The Bill also seeks to enhance efficiency and in maintaining public confidence in the procurement process.
