Pranab hopes inflation to be moderate

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has exuded confidence that the rate of price rise would moderate further in the days ahead.Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mr Mukherjee said if the declining trend in food items and non-food primary items articles continues, it would be possible to have a moderate rate of inflation.The minister, however, cautioned against high crude oil prices in the international market, as they could have a bearing on domestic inflation.India among countries with highest number of HIV adolescents. India has been listed along with the sub-Saharan countries having the highest number of youngsters infected by the HIV virus. A latest United Nations report says 95,000 adolescents are living with HIV in India.Of these 46,000 are girls and 49,000 are boys. The report says India has been ranked tenth in the list of countries most affected with HIV in 2009.South Africa is at the top with over 2 lakh girls and 82,000 boys infected with the virus. Nigeria is at second place with 1 lakh 80 thousand girls and 1 lakh boys followed by Kenya.
