The Leader of the Lok Sabha Pranab Mukherjee has called a meeting of opposition leaders on February 8th to break the parliamentary impasse. In letters sent out to Opposition party leaders, Mr. Mukherjee invited them for mutual consultations in relation to the coming budget session. The winter session was a wash-out barring the very first day. Opposition parties have been insisting that the government should concede its demand for a joint parliamentary committee to probe the 2G spectrum allocation scandal.
