The leader of the Lok Sabha and Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee has invited leaders of all political parties for a breakfast meeting today to end the weeklong deadlock in Parliament over the mode of discussion on Price rise. The meeting is expected to prepare a formula after the opposition struck to there demand on discussion under a rule which entails voting. Government sources said that there is a proposal to put up a resolution in the two houses expressing concern at the inflationary pressure on the economy and calls upon the government to contain its impact. The CPI favors the acceptance of the proposal. Deputy Leader of BJP in Rajya Sabha S S Ahluwalia said, his Party has not yet taken a final decision on its future course of action in both Houses of Parliament on the price rise issue. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal has expressed hope that a way out would be found out at the meeting convened by Mr. Mukherjee to end the deadlock. AIR Parliamentary correspondent reports, the Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Meira Kumar has already rejected the opposition notice of an adjournment motion on the issue. She maintained it does not involve failure of the government in its constitutional duties.
