The aim is also encourage competition to perform better and set up new benchmarks of performance in higher education space. The Minister said that to promote quality education, Government is providing support for setting up and upgrading of 10 public and 10 private Institutions of Eminence so as to enable them to reach amongst top 100 of world institutions ranking. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has been adjudged the best engineering college and the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad the best management institution. Delhi University's Miranda House was the best college and National Law School of India University Bengaluru the best law school in the country.&nbsp;</div>''<div><b><br />''</b></div>''<div>AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh and CMC Vellore were ranked as the top three medical colleges. In the university category, IISc stood first, followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University and Banaras Hindu University. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali topped in pharmacy institutions and IIT Kharagpur topped in Architechture In this third edition of India Rankings, a total of 2809 institutions participated in 9 categories.</div></div></div>
