Prakash Javadekar asks all media units under I&B ministry to work as Team-I&B

<span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar today asked all media units under his ministry to work as Team-I&B. Through video conference, he addressed the 2-day Conference of Officers of Media Units, South Zone that began this morning in Hyderabad. The Minister asked the officials to prepare communication strategies to reach out to people at a maximum extent in changing scenario.<br />'' <br />'' Stating that over 125 programmes and schemes have been roled out during the past 5 years, Mr Javadekar said due publicity must be given and awareness must be created among people. Referring to Good News as Doordarshan started telecasting, he asked media units to prepare testimonials and positive news by reaching out to beneficiaries. He stressed on the need for changing the manner in which the publicity is being done now and asked officials to make new programmes.<br />'' <br />'' He appreciated the efforts made by Prasar Bharati relating to the 'newsonair app' and asked other media units to be innovative with the help of technology. Stating that all the media units are part of the growth story, he asked them to popularize and strengthen social media handles by adopting scientific approach. He also stressed the need for publicity in local languages and making use of influencers to take the information about important decisions of the government close to people. Earlier, in his opening remarks, Secretary I&B, Ravi Mittal stressed the need for theme wise communication in the changing times. He asked the media officials in different departments to work together and increase the output many fold.<br />'' <br />'' In his opening remarks, the Joint Secretary, Vikram Sahay impressed upon the Indian Information Service Officers of different media units to work in coordination and effectively promote programmes and policies of the Government of India on ground. He asked the officials to leverage on cross learning and document the best practices of media strategies and information dissemination techniques. He also stressed the need to fill the gap between the national priorities and of those which individuals feel important.<br />''<br />''Speaking on the occasion, Principle DG, All India Radio and DPD, Ira Joshi asked media officials to have greater cooperation to carry out affective publicity campaigns. Principle DG, PIB, Kuldeep Dhatwalia said all the media units rather work together in campaign mode instead of working in isolation. DG Bureau of Outreach and Communication Satyendra Prakash and DG Doordarshan News Mayank Agarwal also spoke on the occasion. Media officials of I and B from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu and Telangana have attended the two day conference.</span><br />
