Union Minister Praful Patel has been formally elected president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF), to replace the ailing Priyaranjan Dasmunsi. Mr. Patel has been working as the acting president of the AIFF over the past several months after Mr. Dasmunsi fell ill. Das Munshi was president of AIFF for long 20-years. He is yet to recover from the cardiac arrest he suffered last October, was named as Honorary President for life.
