Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, PMMY is contributing a lot for women empowerment in the country and the women entrepreneurs have received approximately 68 per cent of the total number of loans sanctioned under the scheme since its inception.<br />''<br />''The government today said, over 34.28 crore loans with a sanctioned amount of 18.52 lakh crore rupees have been extended across the country under PMMY till 18th of last month since its inception in April 2015. <br />''<br />''In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Karad said, out of this, more than 23.27 crore loans amounting to 8.10 lakh crore rupees have been extended to women borrowers. This constitutes approximately 68 per cent of the total number of loans and 44 per cent of the amount extended under the scheme.<br />''<br />''Dr Karad also informed the house that around 2.99 lakh crore rupees have been sanctioned till 18th of March this year against the target of three lakh crore rupees given to Member Lending Institutions under PMMY for 2021-22.<br />
