<span style="color: #222222;">The government has said that Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana accounts has surged to 43 crore 85 lakh with deposit balance of over one lakh 48 thousand crore rupees. Minister of State for Finance Dr Bhagwat Kisanrao Karad informed this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today. He said, as of 25th March last year, the total number of Jan Dhan accounts were around 38 crore.<br />''<br />''In reply to a question, the Minister said the Government is not planning to come up with any scheme to provide monetary benefits in terms of interest on their money for the beneficiaries of Jan Dhan accounts as all saving bank accounts including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan accounts earn interest on deposits.</span>
