The Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan has called for nationwide debate on continuation of LPG subsidy to tax payers. Talking to newsmen on the sidelines of a programme organised by CII in Kolkata today, Mr. Pradhan clarified that the Government has not yet taken any decision on stopping subsidy to LPG consumers. The Minister informed that around 46 lakhs of people have returned subsidized LPG under the scheme PAHAL to facilitate its availability to poor. He said that 3 crore fake LPG connections have been snapped last year during nationwide drive.
