In Kathmandu, the UCPN (Maoist ) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal -Prachanda called on the President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav Tuesday morning. The meeting assumes significance as the deadline for the Constituent Assembly draws near. According to reports the meeting dwelt on extending the term of the Constituent Assembly and the latest political situation. Emerging from the meeting, Mr. Dahal said he briefed the President on the recent decision taken by his party to ensure the peace process and constitution drafting. He also said, that this part is in favour of forging consensus with other political parties to ensure the peace process and constitution drafting. The opposition, Nepali Congress and various other have meanwhile stuck to their stand that the ten point preconditions have to be met before they can agree to an extension of the term of the Constituent Assembly which expires on the 28th of this month.
