A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 struck off West Nusatenggara in central Indonesia this morning. An official of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency said the quake jolted at 00:08 a.m. Jakarta time with the epicenter at 165 km northwest of Sumbawabesar of West nusa Tenggara and with a depth of 523 km under the sea bed. The official said the intensity of the quake was felt at 4 Modified Mercally Intensity in Denpasar, the capital of Bali province. However, there was no initial report of damage or casualty.
