Power tariff in Delhi rationalized benefiting domestic consumers

Power tariff in Delhi has been rationalized benefiting maximum consumers in the range of 200 to 400 units. Under the new tariff plan announced by Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, DERC, on Monday, domestic consumers will have to pay three rupees seventy paise per unit for the first 200 units of power consumption. Consumers with monthly usage between 200 to 400 units will be charged five rupees fifty paise per unit. Consumption above 400 units will attract charges of six rupees fifty paise per unit. However, there is no change in the first slab of up to 200 units. The revised tariff will be effective from 1st of July this year. Distribution companies will make suitable adjustments in the next bill to be raised by them on paid bills.
