A high-level Indian delegation led by Power Secretary Pradeep Kumar Sinha is in Dhaka on a 2 day visit beginning today. The delegation will attend meetings of the Joint Working Group and Joint Steering Committee on the power sector. The Joint Secretary level Joint Working Group meeting is scheduled today, while the secretary-level Joint Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for tomorrow.According to a press release from High Commission of India, Dhaka, both meetings will discuss the possibility of power exchanges between the two countries through India's Tripura and eastern side of Bangladesh. The meetings will also discuss the possibility of developing joint venture hydro power projects in northeastern Indian states.
