Power Minister R.K Singh addresses Energy Leadership Summit and Awards event in Delhi

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Power Minister R. K. Singh has said that availability of power in rural areas went up to 22 hours 30 mintues and in urban areas to 23 hours 30 minutes. He said, the aim of the government is to make it 24 hours. Addressing the Energy Leadership Summit and Awards event in New Delhi on Tuesday, Mr Singh said that from 2014 onwards, India has added total power generation capacity of over 184 GigaWatt and that total installed capacity is 417 GigaWatt.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, the government has been working tirelessly on energy access, energy efficiency, energy sustainability and energy security. He said, today, 42 per cent of the country's energy capacity is from non-fossil-fuels and government has made a commitment to take this to 50 per cent by 2030. Mr. Singh said that India's per capita carbon emissions is around two tons while the world per capita average is around six tons.</span><br />
