Union Power, New and Renewable Minister R.K.Singh today told Indian power sector is ready to meet the growing demand of Power. The demand of power is increased by 70% in the last 9 years. The Minister was addressing the audience after inaugurating the Vishram Sadan by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd at National Institute of Medical Health and Neurosciences NIMHANS campus in Bengaluru today. He asserted that no other country had experienced such a huge demand. <br />''<br />''The demand has grown at a rate of 9% last year and 10 % this year. The Power addition is undergoing with an additional construction of 99,000 MW in Renewable energy, 1,04,000 MW in Hydro Electric sector, 18000 MW in Nuclear Power and 87,000 MW in Thermal sector. He said that this facility will help the poorest of the poor from across the Country who came for the treatment in NIMHANS. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd is the single largest profiting making grid in the World. The Minister also assured to provide the Power requirement of Karnataka.<br />''<br />''Earlier, Mansukh L Mandaviya, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Chemical and Fertiliser also graced the occasion virtually. He pointed out that mental health is a big issue in the Country especially after Covid and NIMHANS is playing a vital role in tackling it. K J George, Karnataka Minister of Energy, Tejasvi Soorya MP were also present on the occasion.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Vishram Sadan was built by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd under its CSR, Corporate social Responsibility fund at a cost of 23 crore rupees. The construction of the Sadan was started in 2020 and is built in an area of 6630 sq.meter. It consists of 55 rooms and 270 beds. The inmates are provided boarding and lodging facilities in a very clean and sanitized environment at nominal charges. This is the ninth Vishram Sadan constructed as part of the CSR initiative of Powergrid.</span><br />
