Power Grid Corporation of India has posted a profit of Rs. 2,048 crore after tax  and a total income of Rs. 9,817 crore on consolidated basis for first quarter of financial year 2021. <br />'' <br />''On standalone basis, corporation posted profit of Rs. 1979 crore after tax and a total income of Rs. 9,620 crore for the same period.<br />'' <br />''During the quarter, corporation recognized one-time consolidated rebate of Rs. 1,075 crore to DISCOMs and Power Departments of the States and Union Territories for passing on to the end-consumers on account of Covid-19 pandemic against the billing of April and May months this year.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Excluding the impact of this one-time rebate, company's profit increased by 18 percent over the corresponding period of 2019-20 on standalone basis.</span><br />
