In Tamil Nadu, the Kudankulam nuclear power plant has generated 687.5 million units of electricity till now earning a revenue of Rs 1565 crore. The nuclear power plant site director R S Sundar told AIR that the power generation in the first unit of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant will begin in a few days.<br/>The first unit of Kudankulam nuclear power plant is getting ready for electricity generation again. <br/><br/>The power generation was stopped last year on June 24 for maintenance purpose. When the regeneration of power got delayed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalaithaa had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging revival of power generation in the nuclear power plant.<br/><br/>Testing of valves is complete and hydro test of the device will be conducted today. Atomic energy regulatory Board officials are going through the safety parameters in the Kudankulam nuclear power plant. The first unit of Kudankulam nuclear power plant set up with Russian expertise achieved criticality in July 2014 .
